We are excited to help you find a great addition to your family and we understand you are excited too! Remember that adopting a dog is a serious commitment to make. Be sure you are currently in a space to accept a new family member into your world.
Step 1: View the available animals on our ‘Available Animals’ page.
Step 2: Submit your application! Please provide us with as much information as possible, so we can find you the right fit!
- You will need to create an account. Please SAVE your username and password as you will need this to complete the adoption process.
Step 3: Send us a message on Facebook to let us know your application has been submitted and which animal you are interested in meeting. If you do not have Facebook, please email ppadoptions@gmail.com
Step 4: Check your inbox for our approval email! Sometimes these end up in your junk mail, so please be sure to check there.
Step 5: Wait for our adoption team to reach out. Contact has already been initiated so we will be reaching out to set up a meeting!
- We schedule these meetings with the intent of your family taking an animal home that day. Please be prepared for this.
- Travel to us, is required on your part, for any adoption meetings. We do not hold animals and a meeting will need to be set up within a few days of your Facebook/email message to us. Please ensure your schedule will be open for a trip to Lethbridge.
Things to Note
- If you are submitting an application for a specific animal, please note, we often get multiple applications for an animal. If you receive an email saying your application was approved, this does NOT mean you are automatically approved for the specific animal. You are an approved adopter, but we are still filtering through applications. We will chat with you via Facebook/email on animals we feel would be a good fit for your home.
- If you receive an email saying the animal you applied for is no longer available, this simply means we have chosen another family for that animal. You can still log into your account and submit requests to meet other animals.
- RENTERS: Ensure your landlord has given you permission to add a dog or cat to your home. Getting this permission in writing is the best course of action so there are no surprises after the fact. Many landlords or condo boards may have specific requirements for your new pet, such as falling within certain weight or height restrictions. Be sure these are clear to you and that you make them clear in your application
- All completed adoptions are subject to a 5% processing fee
